Is Stock Simplifier Legit?

We wrote this page about our own product, so read it with that in mind. Everything below is checkable against our pricing page, our policies and the product itself.

Yes. Stock Simplifier is a real product from Long Term Mindset, the education company co-founded by Brian Feroldi, Brian Stoffel and Brian Withers, three former Motley Fool contractors. There is a free plan with no credit card, and paid plans run $19.99 or $39.99 a month. It does not give stock picks.

Who is behind Stock Simplifier?

Stock Simplifier is operated by Long-Term Mindset LLC, a US company. That is the legal entity named at the top of our Terms of Service, our Privacy Policy and our Acceptable Use Policy. Disputes are governed by Rhode Island law.

The company was founded by three former Motley Fool contractors: Brian Feroldi, Brian Stoffel and Brian Withers. Their names, investing histories and article counts are on our about page. Brian Feroldi has been investing since 2004, wrote more than 3,000 articles for the Motley Fool and is the author of Why Does The Stock Market Go Up?, which you can buy from any bookshop and judge for yourself.

That matters for one reason. A named team with a public body of work has something to lose. If you want to check who you are dealing with before you pay, start with the book, the YouTube channel and the newsletter, all of which existed years before this software did.

What do you get free, and what does the paid version cost?

The free plan is genuinely free. No credit card, no expiry, no trial clock. It covers 10,000+ global stocks with unlimited analyses, the guided research wizard, five years of financial statements, segment and geography breakdowns, historical ratio charts, the screener on financial data, the Buy, Watch, Pass dashboard, standard watchlists, price alerts, image export and every free tool on this site.

The paid plans, as of September 2026:

PlanMonthlyAnnualWhat it adds
Free$0$0No credit card. 5 years of financials, all free tools, dashboard, price alerts, image export
Standard$19.99$199 a year ($16.60 a month)AI analysis, graded answers on key questions, 20 years of financials and multiples, 1-Page Overview, screening by AI attributes
Pro$39.99$399 a year ($33.25 a month)Deep Dive AI analysis, TAM, DCF and reverse DCF models, custom watchlists, data and dashboard export, priority email support

Annual billing saves about 17% against monthly. Standard and Pro both come with a 7-day free trial that requires a card. Our pricing page states that if you do nothing the trial converts to a paid subscription at the end of it, and that you can cancel before then and not be charged. Our Terms of Service add that we email you before any trial converts, and that trials are limited to one per person.

Both paid plans carry a 30-day money-back guarantee on your first subscription payment. The next section covers cancelling and refunds in full.

Where does the data come from?

The financial data is licensed from Fiscal.ai (operated by Stratosphere Technology Inc.), whose underlying providers include S&P Market Intelligence LLC. Our Terms of Service name both. We pay for that data. We do not scrape it, and we do not ask a language model to recall it from memory.

That distinction is the main reason we built the product this way. Ask a general-purpose chatbot for a company's free cash flow and you may get a number that sounds right and is not. Our numbers come from a paid data feed, so you can trace any figure back to the filing it came from.

Two honest caveats. First, our Terms of Service say plainly that we do not independently verify third-party data and cannot guarantee its accuracy, completeness or timeliness. Second, the written analysis on top of that data is generated by large language models, and language models get things wrong. Both of those are in section 5 of our terms in the same words we are using here.

What does Stock Simplifier not do?

This is the part most product pages skip, so here it is in plain terms.

How do you cancel, and how do refunds work?

Cancelling. You can cancel from your account settings at any time, or by emailing brian@longtermmindset.co. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the billing cycle you have already paid for, and your account drops back to the free plan. Your saved analyses and watchlists stay with you.

Trials. Cancel before a 7-day trial ends and you are not charged at all. Our terms say we email you before a trial converts.

Refunds. Paid plans carry a 30-day money-back guarantee: ask within 30 days of your first subscription payment and you get that payment back. It applies to the first payment rather than every renewal, and unused days inside a billing cycle are not refunded separately. Email the address above to request it.

If none of that is reassuring enough, use the free plan. It never asks for a card, so you can decide before any money changes hands.

How can you verify all this yourself?

Who should skip it?

If you want the fuller picture, our facts page lists every plan, price and coverage detail in one place, and our guide to research tools for long-term investors puts us next to the alternatives.

Disclosure: This page is published by the company that makes Stock Simplifier, so it is not an independent review. Every claim on it is written so you can check it yourself against our pricing page, our Terms of Service, our Privacy Policy and the free plan. Where our marketing and our legal terms say different things, we have said so instead of picking the flattering version. Prices are as of September 2026.

No. There is no buy list, no model portfolio and no ranked recommendation. The product gathers the data, builds the charts and writes the analysis for whichever company you enter. You score each section and decide. Our terms state explicitly that no output is a recommendation to buy, sell, hold or avoid any security.

Our privacy policy states that we do not sell personal information, that all payment processing runs through Stripe and that we never store your full card number, that connections are encrypted over HTTPS, and that we will notify affected users of a breach within 72 hours where feasible. Account data is kept for up to 12 months after cancellation so you can reactivate, and you can request deletion at any time by emailing Hello@stocksimplifier.com. We also use Kit for email and the Meta Pixel for advertising measurement, both named in the policy.

Yes. Our pricing page says you can cancel from your settings at any time, and our Terms of Service say you may also cancel by emailing brian@longtermmindset.co. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing cycle and no credit is issued for unused days. Your account drops to the free plan and your saved research stays with you.

That depends on how many stocks you research. If you analyze a handful of companies a year, the free plan is probably enough and you should stay on it. If you research regularly, the paid plans replace hours of spreadsheet work per company, which is the trade most subscribers say they are making. The honest way to find out is to run the free plan on two or three companies first, then decide.

Yes, and it is one of the better fits. No accounting background is needed. The wizard walks through business, phase, moat, growth, management, risk and valuation in order, and explainers on every metric tell you what you are looking at and why it matters. The trade-off is that it asks you to do the thinking, so it takes more effort than reading somebody else's recommendation.

Check it yourself before you pay anything.

The free plan needs no credit card and never expires. Run a full analysis on a company you already know and see whether the numbers hold up.
