The short version. Fiscal.ai (formerly FinChat) is the better pick for most self-directed fundamental investors: segment and KPI data on roughly 2,300+ companies, 15 years of financials on Pro and fundamentals updated within minutes of earnings on about 13,000 companies. TIKR costs less, has a free plan with no card (Fiscal.ai has none) and tracks 10,000+ fund portfolios on Pro. Fiscal.ai Pro is $468 a year; TIKR Plus is $215.40.

Price

TIKR is the cheaper way in. Plus costs $215.40 a year, less than half of Fiscal.ai Pro at $468. In the middle and at the top the two are close: TIKR Pro is $455.40 a year, and Fiscal.ai Max at $948 sits just under TIKR Ultimate at $959.40. Month to month, Fiscal.ai Pro is $49 and TIKR Plus is $24.95. All prices are as of September 2026.

Years of history

Fiscal.ai shows more history on its paid plans below the top tier: Fiscal.ai Pro has 15 years of annual financials against 10 on TIKR Plus and Pro. TIKR's free plan has 5 years of US financials, and Fiscal.ai has no free plan. TIKR Ultimate wins the long view with 30 years. Fiscal.ai Max goes to 20+ years, though its help center notes that licensing keeps 20 years of data out of its dashboards for now.

Segment and KPI data

This is the biggest difference. Fiscal.ai tracks company-specific segments and operating KPIs, the numbers management runs the business on, such as AWS revenue at Amazon or same-store sales at Home Depot, for roughly 2,300+ of the largest companies. Pro includes 10 years and 15 quarters of it; Max has the full history. TIKR's plan comparison does not list segment or KPI data. If your thesis rests on one division or one operating metric, this alone can decide it.

Update speed and data sources

TIKR's fundamentals come from S&P Global CapitalIQ. Fiscal.ai runs its own data on about 13,000 US, Canadian, ADR, UK and European companies and says those fundamentals are typically updated 3 to 7 minutes after a company reports, with click-through to the source filing on Max. Other regions come from S&P Capital IQ and take 24 to 48 hours. Fiscal.ai stock prices are 15-minute delayed on its own-data coverage and end-of-day elsewhere.

Coverage

Both claim more than 100,000 securities. TIKR says 100,000+ stocks across 92 countries and 136 exchanges on paid plans, and its free plan is US only. Fiscal.ai says 100,000+ companies, ETFs and funds globally. Call breadth a draw. The real difference is how deep and how fresh the data is on the companies you own.

Transcripts and estimates

TIKR goes deeper for the money. Its Pro plan keeps 10 years of transcripts with call audio and slides, plus four years of analyst estimates with revision trends. Fiscal.ai Pro keeps the latest 10 earnings events and two years of estimates; Max raises that to 30+ events and three years. Fiscal.ai adds keyword search across documents, AI summaries, a 10-year record of beats and misses, and Morningstar equity research reports on Pro and Max.

Fund holdings

A clear TIKR win. TIKR Pro and Ultimate show the portfolios of more than 10,000 funds, and even the free plan shows the top 40. Fiscal.ai covers super investor 13F portfolios and institutional holders of US companies, plus an unusual extra: about 30,000 fund letters, updated twice a day. For tracking who owns what across thousands of funds, TIKR is broader.

AI features

Fiscal.ai writes AI summaries of filings, transcripts, investor relations documents and research reports with citations, generates AI company reports, and lets you save prompt templates. When we checked in September 2026, the app had no chat assistant. To ask questions of Fiscal.ai data in Claude or ChatGPT, you use its MCP connection (an official Claude connector and a ChatGPT app are available), which is priced separately, $780 a year when we checked. We found no AI features listed on TIKR's pricing or home page.

Charting and valuation tools

Fiscal.ai charts fundamentals, segments and KPIs across companies, and added basic technical indicators (RSI, MACD, moving averages and candlesticks) in May 2026. Its modeling tab has DCF, reverse DCF, IRR and comparables templates with the data pre-loaded. TIKR's Valuation Model Builder is quicker: three inputs (revenue growth, operating margin and an exit P/E) pre-filled with consensus estimates, with bull, base and bear cases.

Mobile apps

Neither has a native iOS or Android app. Fiscal.ai and TIKR both work in a phone browser, and both are built for a desktop screen. If an app matters to you, Koyfin has one; see Fiscal.ai vs Koyfin.

Free plans, trials and refunds

TIKR's free plan needs no card and covers US stocks with 5 years of financials, 1 year of estimates and 90 days of transcripts. Fiscal.ai has no free plan. You can try Pro or Max with a 7-day trial that requires a card and turns into a paid plan unless you cancel. If you want to start without paying, this is a clear TIKR win. TIKR offers a 14-day money-back guarantee. Fiscal.ai refunds annual plans within 30 days and does not refund monthly plans.

Who each one is for

Choose Fiscal.ai if you research individual companies and want the numbers management runs the business on. Segment and KPI data, 15 years of financials on Pro and fundamentals updated minutes after earnings on its core coverage make it our pick for most self-directed fundamental investors. It is also the one to choose if you want to bring financial data into Claude or ChatGPT.

Choose TIKR if price matters most, you want a free plan without a card, you follow fund portfolios across thousands of funds, or you want a deep transcript archive and four to five years of estimates. For the longest history, TIKR Ultimate goes back 30 years.

The third option: build the thesis yourself

Most people comparing Fiscal.ai and TIKR are really asking a question neither answers: is this company worth owning?

The problem they share. Both are terminals, and terminals assume you already know what you are looking for. Neither tells you which metrics matter for the company in front of you at its stage of life. That gap shows up at exactly the wrong moment. When a holding falls 30%, you cannot tell a broken business from a temporary drawdown, because you never built the model the thesis rested on.

Stock Simplifier vs Fiscal.ai

Stock Simplifier runs on Fiscal.ai data. We chose Fiscal.ai to power our product for the reasons it wins most rows on this page: standardized financials, segment and KPI data on roughly 2,300+ companies, long history, and fundamentals that update within minutes of earnings.

What we add is the guided analysis. Stock Simplifier walks you through one company at a time, adapts the framework to its lifecycle phase, explains each number where it appears, and leaves the scoring to you, so the conclusion is yours.

The honest trade is scope. Fiscal.ai is a full terminal, with dashboards, a screener, transcripts, fund letters and, on Max, data exports. Stock Simplifier covers 10,000+ global stocks and has none of those. If you already have a process and simply want the raw data, go straight to Fiscal.ai.

Stock Simplifier vs TIKR

TIKR is a data terminal, and terminals assume expertise. You get institutional-grade financials and estimates across global markets, with no guidance on which of it matters for the company in front of you.

Stock Simplifier assumes less. It walks you through the framework, explains each concept where it appears, and adapts the analysis to the company's lifecycle phase, so you build the judgement rather than needing it in advance.

The honest trade is coverage. TIKR spans 100,000+ stocks worldwide; Stock Simplifier covers 10,000+ global stocks. If you want the widest international coverage, including smaller markets, that is a real reason to keep TIKR.

What Stock Simplifier actually does

A guided wizard walks you through seven steps for any stock: the business model, its lifecycle phase, the moat, management, growth, risk and valuation. Real data from Fiscal.ai populates each step, the framework adapts to the type of company, and each concept is explained where it appears. You review, score and decide.

Where it falls short. It will not hand you a stock pick. There is no community, no earnings call transcripts and no portfolio tracker. If any of those is why you subscribe today, keep what you have and add this alongside it.
