Same prices, different strengths. Here is what each one does best, and which fits how you invest.
The short version. Fiscal.ai (formerly FinChat) and Koyfin cost the same on annual billing: $39 or $79 a month as of September 2026. Fiscal.ai is the better pick for most self-directed fundamental investors, thanks to segment and KPI data, 15 years of financials on Pro and fundamentals updated within minutes of earnings on about 13,000 companies. Koyfin wins on charting, macro data, portfolio tools and mobile apps, and it has a free plan, which Fiscal.ai does not.

On annual billing the prices match. Fiscal.ai Pro and Koyfin Plus are both $39 a month ($468 a year), and Fiscal.ai Max and Koyfin Premium are both $79 a month ($948 a year). Month to month, the entry plans are both $49, and the top individual plans are $99 on Fiscal.ai against $110 on Koyfin. Koyfin also sells advisor plans from $209 a month. All prices are as of September 2026. With price a wash, the choice comes down to how you research.
Fiscal.ai shows more past data on its paid plans: Pro has 15 years of annual financials against 10 on Koyfin Plus and Premium. Koyfin's free plan has 2 years, and Fiscal.ai has no free plan. Max goes to 20+ years, though Fiscal.ai's help center notes that licensing keeps 20 years of data out of its dashboards for now. Koyfin gives you more forward-looking data: 10 years of analyst estimates on paid plans, against 2 on Fiscal.ai Pro and 3 on Max.
This is Fiscal.ai's standout, and Koyfin's best-known gap. Fiscal.ai tracks company-specific segments and operating KPIs, such as AWS revenue at Amazon or same-store sales at Home Depot, for roughly 2,300+ of the largest companies. Koyfin does not offer this data yet. A public request on Koyfin's feature board for segment and KPI data has been open since July 2021 and has 232 votes, and several users on it point to Fiscal.ai as a tool that already has the data. In July 2026 a Koyfin team member replied that it is on the near-term roadmap. If your thesis rests on one division or one operating metric, Fiscal.ai is the tool that shows it today.
Koyfin says its global fundamentals and estimates come from S&P Capital IQ, its fund data from Morningstar, and its economic data from sources including FRED and Trading Economics. Fiscal.ai runs its own data on about 13,000 US, Canadian, ADR, UK and European companies and says those fundamentals are typically updated 3 to 7 minutes after a company reports, with click-through to the source filing on Max. Other regions come from S&P Capital IQ and take 24 to 48 hours. Fiscal.ai stock prices are 15-minute delayed on its own-data coverage and end-of-day elsewhere.
Koyfin covers more of the market: global stocks and ETFs plus bonds, currencies, commodities, crypto and economic data, with mutual funds on its advisor plans. Fiscal.ai is built around company research and says it covers 100,000+ companies, ETFs and funds globally. For researching a business, both are broad. For the bigger market picture, Koyfin is the better tool.
A clear Koyfin win. It puts price, fundamental, valuation and macro data on the same chart, with hundreds of technical indicators, analyst targets and saved templates, and its free plan includes advanced charting. Fiscal.ai's charts are strong for comparing fundamentals, segments and KPIs across companies, with estimates on charts and image export, but its technical indicators are basic: RSI, MACD, moving averages and candlesticks, added in May 2026.
Koyfin again. Its macro dashboards, portfolio analytics (profit and loss, benchmark comparison, exposure and risk metrics) and alerts on price, technicals, valuation, news, filings and transcripts are more complete. Fiscal.ai has brokerage sync, portfolio stats and notifications for filings and results, but its price alerts only fire when a stock moves more than 5% in a day.
Koyfin's paid plans include the full transcript history with transcript summaries, plus 10 years of estimates. Fiscal.ai Pro keeps the latest 10 earnings events and two years of estimates; Max raises that to 30+ events and three years. Fiscal.ai adds call audio, slides, keyword search across documents, AI summaries, a 10-year record of beats and misses, and Morningstar equity research reports on Pro and Max. Its modeling tab also has DCF, reverse DCF, IRR and comparables templates with the data pre-loaded.
Fiscal.ai writes AI summaries of filings, transcripts, investor relations documents and research reports with citations, generates AI company reports, and lets you save prompt templates. When we checked in September 2026, the app had no chat assistant. To ask questions of Fiscal.ai data in Claude or ChatGPT, you use its MCP connection (an official Claude connector and a ChatGPT app are available), which is priced separately, $780 a year when we checked. We found no AI assistant or MCP connection listed on Koyfin's pricing or product information pages.
Koyfin has native iOS and Android apps with watchlists, portfolio tracking, news, estimates, transcripts and alerts, synced with the web version. Fiscal.ai has no native app; its website works in a phone browser. If you do much of your research on a phone, Koyfin is the easy call.
Koyfin has a free plan with no card, with 2 years of financials, advanced charting and macro dashboards. Fiscal.ai has no free plan. You can try Pro or Max with a 7-day trial that requires a card and turns into a paid plan unless you cancel. If you want to start without paying, Koyfin wins here. Koyfin refunds paid plans in full within 30 days. Fiscal.ai refunds annual plans within 30 days and does not refund monthly plans.
Choose Fiscal.ai if you research individual companies and want the numbers management runs the business on: segment and KPI data, 15 years of financials on Pro and fundamentals that update minutes after earnings on its core coverage. At the same price as Koyfin, that makes it our pick for most self-directed fundamental investors. It is also the one to choose if you want to bring financial data into Claude or ChatGPT.
Choose Koyfin if you want a free plan without a card, you think in charts, follow macro and markets alongside companies, want a full portfolio tracker and flexible alerts, or research on your phone. It also gives you 10 years of estimates and the full transcript archive on its entry paid plan. Financial advisors who need client reporting should pick Koyfin too.
Most people comparing Fiscal.ai and Koyfin are really asking a question neither answers: is this company worth owning?
The problem they share. Both are terminals, and terminals assume you already know what you are looking for. Neither tells you which metrics matter for the company in front of you at its stage of life. That gap shows up at exactly the wrong moment. When a holding falls 30%, you cannot tell a broken business from a temporary drawdown, because you never built the model the thesis rested on.
Stock Simplifier runs on Fiscal.ai data. We chose Fiscal.ai to power our product for the reasons it wins most rows on this page: standardized financials, segment and KPI data on roughly 2,300+ companies, long history, and fundamentals that update within minutes of earnings.
What we add is the guided analysis. Stock Simplifier walks you through one company at a time, adapts the framework to its lifecycle phase, explains each number where it appears, and leaves the scoring to you, so the conclusion is yours.
The honest trade is scope. Fiscal.ai is a full terminal, with dashboards, a screener, transcripts, fund letters and, on Max, data exports. Stock Simplifier covers 10,000+ global stocks and has none of those. If you already have a process and simply want the raw data, go straight to Fiscal.ai.
Koyfin gets closer to a Bloomberg terminal than anything else at retail pricing, and like a terminal it makes no judgements. Dashboards this powerful assume you already know which metrics matter for this business at this stage.
Stock Simplifier does that interpretation alongside you, adapting the framework to the company's lifecycle phase, and saves the result as work you can revisit.
The honest trade is breadth. Koyfin is the better choice for charting, macro data and portfolio tracking, and Stock Simplifier covers 10,000+ global stocks with no portfolio tracker. On free plans, Koyfin's gives two years of financials; Stock Simplifier's covers a full analysis with five years of financials and no card.
A guided wizard walks you through seven steps for any stock: the business model, its lifecycle phase, the moat, management, growth, risk and valuation. Real data from Fiscal.ai populates each step, the framework adapts to the type of company, and each concept is explained where it appears. You review, score and decide.
Where it falls short. It will not hand you a stock pick. There is no community, no earnings call transcripts and no portfolio tracker. If any of those is why you subscribe today, keep what you have and add this alongside it.
